29 tons of humanitarian aid to Niger

A military transport plane of the Algerian Air Force, carrying 29 tons of food and various medical equipment, took off Saturday from the Boufarik Air Base bound for the Nigerian capital Niamey for the fourth consecutive operation in the framework of the delivery of humanitarian aid to the country, according to a press release from the Ministry of National Defence (DND).

An exceptional bonus for employees of Algérie Poste in direct contact with the citizen

“An exceptional bonus will be granted to counter agents and other employees who are in direct contact with the citizen during this confinement,” the minister said in a statement to the APS on the sidelines of an inspection visit to the post offices of Chéraga and Boulevard Colonel Bougara in El Biar. He also announced the granting of a bonus to “other employees of Algérie Poste such as those of the Back Office (administrative activities…) and technicians”, stressing that “this bonus will be studied at the Board of Directors meeting to be held on 19 May”.

Fatwa Commission calls for avoidance of family visits

“It is not permissible to make family visits and the maintenance of blood ties a vector for the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic,” said the Fatwa Commission under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs in a statement at the end of the meeting of its members, calling for “modern means of communication to be used to exchange vows and maintain blood ties, thus combining the perpetuation of religious, moral and social values with the imperative of social distancing”.

The wearing of masks “will become compulsory once available in sufficient quantities throughout the national territory,” said the Minister of Health and Population and Hospital Reform, Abderahmane Benbouzid, Saturday in Setif.
