In Tunisia, the National Corona Corps work is launched.

On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Prime Minister Elias Al-Fakhfakh launched the work of the “National Corona Facility” at a ministerial meeting supervised by the Kasbah before going to the Al-Owainah barracks to install the operating room that will be supervised by this body.

The commission is working under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister to support the efforts of the health committee, which was at the centre of the response to the epidemic.

The commission is composed of the ministers of defence, interior, justice, health, finance, trade, local affairs, social affairs, communication technology and transport, as well as senior officials from the ministries and interfering structures.

In view of the increasing risks and the multiplicity of stakeholders, the Supreme Commission against Corona is working to unite all efforts, especially in sensitive sectors, ensuring good coordination and providing effective and efficient response capacity to address the epidemic in its health, security, economic, social and other interrelated aspects.

In addition, at the regional level, the Commission will make use of regional committees to respond to disasters, with the assistance of those it deems appropriate to carry out these tasks.

It was decided that the commission would be the unified official body authorized to provide information, guidance and data on all aspects related to the management of the overall response to the Corona epidemic, while the Health Committee of the Ministry of Health and its services would continue to work within its area of competence.

All ministries, public structures and local authorities will strive to provide the authority with all the data it needs to coordinate the response and mobilize all national efforts.

The authority oversees an operating room set up for this purpose in the National Guard Barracks in Aweina, which will operate 24 hours a day.

The operating room informs the instructions, coordinates among the various actors, follows the instructions and recommendations, improves their implementation, collects information from the authorities, prepares daily reports and submits recommendations, all within the framework of the mission entrusted to it.
