11pm curfew, reopening of gyms and hammams… The government lifts a series of restrictions

Following the recommendations of the Scientific and Technical Committee and taking into account the progressive improvement of the sanitary situation, the government has announced a series of measures that will come into force as of October 1, 2021.

According to a press release relayed by MAP, these measures concern the prohibition of night travel at the national level from 23:00 to 05:00, and the authorisation of travel between prefectures and provinces, provided that a vaccination pass or an administrative travel authorisation issued by the competent territorial authorities is presented.

It is also a question of closing shops, restaurants and cafés at 23:00, provided that they do not exceed 50% of their capacity.

These measures limit the capacity of public transport to 75%, in addition to the permission to organise gatherings and activities in open and closed spaces of less than 50 people, with the obligation to obtain a permit from the local authorities if this number is exceeded.

Hammams and gyms are also allowed to resume their activities up to 50% of their capacity, in addition to maintaining all other restrictive measures previously decided upon in the context of the state of health emergency.

For the implementation of these various measures to succeed, the government calls on all citizens to continue their full commitment and strict compliance with all the announced restrictive measures, including physical distancing, general hygiene rules and the mandatory wearing of protective masks, the statement concludes.
